Poem, "Thankful Trees"

 Thankful Trees...

Ya Rabbiy,

Thank you so much

So much I want to thank you

I want to fall into sujood

Saying there’s no god but You

But my heart needs to prostrate deeper

Burrowing myself beneath the layer of golden autumn leaves

Under the rich soil where I entangle myself with submerged roots of trees

And lay there, still, unseen

And covered in humility, as I thank Thee…
