A Beautiful Invitation...to Beautiful Beginnings and a Beautiful Akhira

A Rainbow in Victoria Falls in Zambia, Africa

First, I start with dua (a prayer) that Allah (swt) open your hearts to this beautiful invitation. I learned from experiences working with my beautiful Muslim community that it doesn't take a lot of people to get a big job done, it just takes a few sincere hearts.

Most people have a particular charity that is close to their heart and this one is for me but I think if you take a moment, you'll realize it is for you as well. Charities can be a sticky issue because as much as we want to donate, we want to know that the money went to those who need it. This charity is one I confidently openly support because I know the sister in charge as well as her children. The director, Sister Jameelah,  is and American revert from Texas. I actually used to babysit her kids from time to time. I've known her for 13 years and my husband has known her and her family for at least 20.

Before I go on, a necessary disclaimer; I think I should mention that I don't receive anything  for spreading this message. I am currently a donor to this charity and sincerely hope you will join me in seeking this blessing.

Jameelah is a dynamic, passionate Muslimah who has a keen talent in making da'wah, mashAllah.  In fact, she used to work in the Islamic Center of Irving's da'wah department but I've witnessed that making da'wah was a normal part of her daily life as we were out and about around town on different occasions.

At some point, she ended up moving to Zambia with her husband and children where she is currently answering the spiritual call to care for and teach orphans and other vulnerable children.

Because I already know the work ethic and fervor for Islam Jameelah has,  I feel deeply inclined to share this beautiful opportunity with others. On another very personal note, Zambia happens to be where my maternal grandfather spent many years doing his own charity and education work. So  I invite you to connect to this amazing stream of sadaqa jaariyah being earned by people like my grandfather, Sister Jameelah, her staff of teachers and all the other donors, to our beautiful Nabi Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) and above all, our Creator, Allah swt.

Sahl ibn Sa’d reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Myself and the caretaker of an orphan will be in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together.

This beautiful hadith is enough to bring tears to anyone's eyes. Imagine being so close to Muhammad (s.a.w.s.). We are among the generations that didn't get to be near him physically but we have the hope and guidance to be gathered near to him in front of Allah swt in the next life, Allah willing.

Beautiful Beginnings Outreach and Relief (BBOR)

So I invite you to give a beautiful beginning to these young vulnerable students while building a beautiful akhira for yourself. The school Sister Jameelah is the director of BBOR clothes, feeds and houses the children. Any donation you give, no matter how large or small will go toward these ongoing needs. The school is run to professional standards and children have proper report cards to track their progress. They are given a uniform and all the tools needed to be successful students.

As much as our hearts go out to the orphans, most of us are not orphans and don't truly understand their plight. In addition to being financially and socially vulnerable in society, lacking basic needs, they have the ongoing heartache of not having that beautiful shade over them in their youth that only parents can properly provide. Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) on the other hand, had an acute understanding of the orphan's heartache, as he (s.a.w.s.) himself was an orphan.
